Originally established in 2003 as P.G. Harris Construction Co., Hemmis Construction is now led by owner Matt Hemmis. For the first 16 years, the company focused on small to mid-sized commercial projects across Southeastern Virginia.

When Matt arrived in 2019, he guided the company through a new era of growth—expanding operations regionally, diversifying its portfolio, and focusing on mid- to large-scale developments. With service and relationships at the forefront, Hemmis Construction has evolved into a premier general contracting and construction management firm, now delivering projects from coast to coast.
